Forestry and Industrial Crops

Industrial crops refer to (mostly) non-food crops, the produce of which are used for manufacturing. Essential oil crops, medicinal plants, fibre crops and beverages are all included as possible categories here.

Another definition is crops “normally not sold directly for consumption because they need to be industrially processed prior to final use” (Eurostat, 2024). This definition would include oilseeds, crops which Agribook has placed under agronomy.
